I have a post from earlier in the year where I outlined my 25/5 thing, and why I think it’s a good way to take stock of how to decide what to prioritize.
Full post here:
Before I go to be after coming back from a friend’s place after New Years, I looked up and sorted my list for 2024 again.
I added 4 things to the list: things I didn’t really have there but over the last 6 months are things I want to prioritize.
Dropped 3 items because 2 of them had sort of been accomplished (wow!), and another just didn’t matter anymore. A bunch slid down the list - things I thought were important once, were less so now - either because they mattered less to me now or I’d made enough progress that they were less important than other things on the list.
As expected, my priorities had changed though even I was surprised by how much going into next year - especially items in the 5-15 range.
The Top 5 changed too - which hasn’t happened in a while and at least 2 items in the old Top 5 - not only did I not make much progress, there was a definite regression. :-/
Based on this 2024, should be an year of change for me. One that is - to borrow a quote from a Google co-founder/CEO “uncomfortably exciting”.
Here’s wishing happiness and excitement to you and your families as well!
